About Me
Hi, I’m Jane Culwell, a 21-year-old interior design student from Houston, Texas, currently studying Interior Design at Louisiana State University. I built this website to share my portfolio, show my personal design style, and connect with others who share my passion for creative and meaningful spaces.
Outside of design, I love traveling, music, and movies, especially going to concerts and the theater. Those experiences inspire me a lot because they’re all about emotion, storytelling, and atmosphere, just like interior design. One thing I’m really looking forward to is traveling to Italy to see the architecture in person and experience the history and detail that’s shaped so many of my favorite designers.
My style blends contemporary, rustic, and mid-century modern influences. I love clean lines, warm textures, and natural materials that make a space feel both timeless and inviting. I’m inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright and Richard Neutra for how they brought nature into design through glass, built-in features, and indoor-outdoor flow. But being from Texas, I also have a soft spot for traditional ranch-style homes, it really just depends on the project and the feeling I’m going for.
This site reflects my growth as a designer and the way I’m learning to blend creativity, function, and personality into my work. Feel free to explore my projects, learn about my process, or reach out if you’d like to connect or chat about design.
